AIA adviser summit focuses on regulatory challenges, small businesses, mental health

AIA Australia will hold its annual Adviser Summit tomorrow with Financial Services Minister Jane Hume among the key figures who will discuss the major issues of concern to the industry.

CEO Damien Mu will open proceedings with a welcome address, followed by an interview session with Ms Hume.

“Due to its success [last year], AIA Australia is running the Adviser Summit for its second consecutive year,” the business said.

“The summit will bring together risk specialists, industry experts and decision makers, to cover the major issues impacting the future of Australia’s advised life insurance industry.”

The summit’s first-day agenda is focused on regulatory matters, with participation from Association of Financial Advisers CEO Phil Anderson and Financial Planning Association CEO Sarah Abood.

Australian Securities and Investments Commission Executive Director Financial Services and Wealth Joanna Bird will also speak tomorrow as will Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services Stephen Jones.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the summit shifts its focus to small business and personal wellbeing/resilience.
