Acenda ‘consulting with our people’ on restructure

Acenda says it is “aligning” its business and expects to have a new structure in place by April.

The life insurance group did not comment on a Finance Sector Union report that two rounds of redundancies affecting 185 employees have been announced.

A spokesperson for Acenda told insuranceNEWS.com.au: “We are currently consulting with our people as we align our organisational structure with our strategic direction following the recent merger of Acenda Life (formerly MLC Life Insurance) and Resolution Life Australasia.

“This is an important step in our integration, and these changes will allow us to move forward with clarity and certainty, with the right structure and capabilities to deliver on our priorities and our customer commitments.

“Our new structure is expected to be in place at the beginning of Q2.”

The union says Acenda has begun consultation on the first round of redundancies.
