Aon’s Mike Smith has announced his retirement, ending a 35-year career in aviation broking.

UK-based Mr Smith will step down at the end of the month and is working with Aon’s Global Aviation Leader Tracy Toro and UK Transportation and Logistics Leader Alex Gibson to “ensure ongoing support for the firm’s aviation clients and colleagues”.

“Mike has made significant contributions to building our UK aviation team and we want to thank him for his dedication to clients and colleagues throughout his career,” said Lee Meyrick, Global Industry Specialty Leader for Transportation and Logistics and CEO of Global Marine.
