Marsh McLennan has appointed Renee McGowan as international chief commercial officer, responsible for driving strategy across six regions.

Ms McGowan will report to international CEO Flavio Piccolomini and global chief commercial officer Hans van Heukelum from October 1.

“With her global leadership experience and deep commitment to collaboration, Renee is well-positioned to steer our growth and foster innovative solutions for our clients that deliver meaningful impact across diverse markets,” Mr Piccolomini said.

Ms McGowan, currently CEO for India, the Middle East and Africa (IMEA), joined Marsh McLennan in 2001 as an international employee benefit consultant with Mercer in London.

She has also held leadership positions in key growth markets for Mercer including Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and the United Arab Emirates. 

In her new role, she will focus on strengthening client relationships across Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman, and fostering innovative and tailored solutions in Asia, Europe, the UK, IMEA, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Pacific.

Ms McGowan will continue to serve as CEO of IMEA until early next year, when she will move from Dubai to Europe.
