Andrew Aldwinckle has been appointed international casualty chief underwriting officer at Liberty Mutual Reinsurance.

Based in London, he will be responsible for setting underwriting strategy and driving growth in the casualty line.  

LM Re underwrites a broad portfolio of casualty reinsurance from its offices in Australia, Europe, Singapore and Latin America.

“Andrew’s wealth of market experience and proven expertise will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our international casualty capabilities," chief underwriting officer Chantal Rodriguez said.

Mr Aldwinckle has been Axa XL head of European casualty for more than 12 years.

“I’m looking forward to exchanging ideas and building something meaningful with the brilliant teams at Liberty Mutual Reinsurance, starting February 2026,” he said.

“Until then, it’s renewal season at Axa XL and there’s still plenty of value to deliver alongside my fantastic colleagues here.”
