Guy Carpenter adds to cyber team

Global reinsurer Guy Carpenter has announced a series of appointments and promotions to its cyber divisions in New York and London which it says will enhance and enrich its digital capabilities.

Former Marsh USA Senior VP for Cyber Practice Matthew McCabe has been named as Cyber Broking MD.

In the role, Mr McCabe will hold responsibilities for developing cyber security policies in response to “complex issues”, such as cyber war and client safety.

The company also announced that Grace Seigle will join its New York offices as a cyber broker, focusing on facilitating capital for clients in the cyber retrocession market. She previously served at Gallagher Re.

In London, Souki Chahid will join as Head of International Cyber Analytics. She has more than 10 years of actuarial experience and most recently worked as a Cyber Modelling Manager at specialist insurer CFC.

Guy Carpenter says Ms Chahid will partner closely with its North American Cyber Analytics Head Jess Fung and Marsh McLennan’s Cyber Risk Analytics Center to support developing strategies and responses to cyber risks.

The firm has also appointed Zain Awan to a newly created role as International Cyber insurance-linked securities (ILS) Lead. Mr Awan previously served as the firm’s Senior VP of Reinsurance Broker and Actuary and will continue to operate out of London.

“We are committed to delivering advancements in integrated analytics and broking that address our clients’ changing needs,” Guy Carpenter Global Co-Head of Cyber Anthony Cordonnier said.

“Through these appointments, we will be better able to partner with our clients to identify portfolio growth opportunities, bring expertise to complex risk issues and create a broad range of cyber risk transfer solutions for the global market."
