Allianz Partners names new APAC boss

Allianz Partners says German MD Carsten Staat will become regional director for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa from August 1.

Mr Staat will take over from Vinay Surana, who moves to the role of senior adviser to Allianz Partners CEO Tomas Kunzmann.

“Asia-Pacific is one of the most dynamic growth regions for Allianz Partners,” chief markets officer Jacob Fuest said.

“Carsten’s ability to drive high-performing teams, create long-lasting partnerships and deliver sustainable growth makes him an invaluable asset … I have every confidence he will achieve exceptional results for our customers, partners and people across the region.”

Last month, Allianz Partners said its deal to acquire Nib’s travel insurance portfolio will boost its Australian and New Zealand presence across key distribution channels.
