‘A decade of impact’: 10th Dive In to be held in September

The 10th anniversary of Dive In, the insurance industry’s diversity and inclusion festival, is to be held from September 24-26 next year.

This year, Dive In was attended by almost 31,000 participants from a record 84 countries.

“We expect the 10th anniversary next year to be extra special as we celebrate a decade of impact,” Aon Reinsurance Solutions Global Chairman Dominic Christian said.

Under 2023 the theme “Unlocking Innovation: The Power of Inclusion”, the festival's hybrid format included over 135 events featuring discussions led by over 500 speakers on topics such as indigenous rights and sustainability.

In Taiwan, a panel addressed workplace sexual harassment, while events elsewhere explored new topics for Dive In such as artificial intelligence and domestic abuse. In the UK, a panel discussed on the impact of TV, film and media on diversity, while in Brazil another panel examined men's role in promoting gender equality.

In Australia, Steadfast MD and CEO Robert Kelly was among a panel who discussed supporting women in leadership positions, while Australian Human Rights Commissioner Lorraine Finlay spoke at a session entitled Artificial Intelligence and Discrimination in Insurance pricing and Underwriting.

Award-winning Dive In was conceived by Inclusion@Lloyd’s. It aims to drive greater inclusivity and to promote innovation to address the challenge of natural catastrophes, the net-zero transition, and supply chain and cyber risks.

The festival is supported by companies including AIG, Allied World, Aon, Arch, Aviva, AXA, Axis, BMS, Chubb, CNA, DLA Piper, Everest, Gallagher, Howden, Kennedys, Lloyd’s, Liberty Mutual, Markel, Marsh McLennan, Moody’s RMS, Munich RE, RenaissanceRe, SCOR, Sompo International, Steadfast, Tokio Marine Kiln, Travelers and WTW.

“The festival provided tangible examples of how DE&I connects with and directly influences innovation that will help be a key enabler to realising our aspirations as an industry,” CRB North America Head Mike Chang said.
