ROLLiN’ rolls out Ravin AI damage assessments

Digital motor insurer ROLLiN’ is teaming with Ravin AI to offer automated vehicle inspections after crashes.

Ravin’s technology draws on a global data set of billions of vehicle images and uses artificial intelligence to assess damage in photos taken by customers or tow truck drivers.

The system provides real-time predictions on whether a vehicle is a total loss or repairable, along with automated repair estimates.

IAG-owned ROLLiN’ will integrate the technology into its claims workflow to speed processing. It says early usage has cut average claim cycle times by 50% and reduced dependency on hire vehicles, improving customer satisfaction.

EM Brendan Griffiths says most ROLLiN’ customers lodge claims online and by using the technology can choose to capture vehicle damage themselves.

“Joining forces with Ravin AI aligns perfectly with ROLLiN’s goal to provide smart insurance that meets the expectations of a younger, tech-savvy audience,” he said.

IAG’s start-up funding arm Firemark Ventures invested in Ravin in 2023.
