Raindrop brings in tech expert
Jamie Smith has been appointed chief information officer at Darwin insurtech Raindrop.
Melbourne-based Mr Smith was previously insurance transformation lead MD at Accenture, CIO at Hollard and a partner at EY.
“Jamie shares our vision to help insurers and brokers adopt AI with confidence,” Raindrop said. “We want to help clients understand insurance clearly. We also want to give regulators confidence that the industry is using AI safely.
“Inconsistent information creates significant challenges for clients, operations and regulators. He brings deep experience in business transformation. Throughout his career, he has seen the damage caused by product misunderstanding.”
Mr Smith will help Raindrop’s customers manage insurance complexity, enterprise technology, commercial adoption and responsible AI use, the insurtech says.
The Raindrop platform allows users to search, compare and analyse policy documents side by side, and assists with policy meaning analysis, visual comparison and regulatory updates. Founder and CEO Jasmin Flori-Hess previously spent a decade at UBS in Zurich.
Raindrop closed an oversubscribed seed funding round in 2024 and later won a NT government innovation grant.
