Moodflx, Airdocs win DXC Invitational

This year’s DXC Invitational insurtech competition has been won by Moodflx and Airdocs.

Seventeen finalists pitched to a panel of judges on Tuesday. The winners will now receive an invitation to partner with DXC globally, gain access to DXC’s customers and deploy their solution across regions.

Melbourne-based Moodflx was founded by AFL hall-of-famer and AIA Australia Head of Commercial Development Paul Salmon. The emotion insights platform says it "empowers the workforce to leverage how they feel to improve engagement, performance and wellbeing”. It incorporates factors that directly impact mood while recommending and rewarding positive change.

Sydney-based Airdocs enables businesses to easily automate personalised multi-channel communications, including welcome packs, statements, schedules, renewals, claims updates, servicing letters, call centre inquiries, notifications and reminders.

“We look forward to sharing the solutions from this year’s competition with the industry which will no doubt help address some of the pressing challenges we face,” DXC Technology Regional GM Insurance, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa Michael Neary said.

The judging panel was made up of Insurtech Australia CEO Simone Dossetor, Emergence CEO Troy Filipcevic, Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company CTO Yousuf Amin, Fidelity Life Acting CIO Ruth Goldwater, and Saudi Arabia General Organisation for Social Insurance Head of Digital Sivakumar Seshadri.

The competition, now in its fifth year, started in Australia and has this year been expanded to take entries from countries across the Asia Pacific, Japan, Middle East and Africa region.

“It is exciting to see insurtech startups and scaleups given the opportunity to present to leaders of the insurance industry...and to see the support DXC offers to insurtechs locally and globally,” Ms Dossetor said.

DXC aims to discover solutions that improve customer experience, increase efficiencies, and support compliance across the distribution value chain and lifecycle of a policy, including prevention and claims management.

Past winners include BodyGuide, an app that creates personalised and practical programs to help solve and prevent pain, E5 Workflow, Daisee, which scores phone calls to insurers on compliance and conduct using machine learning, People Diagnostix, and Sydney-based wellbeing data expert Springday, which DXC both uses internally and offers to clients.

The other 15 finalists this year were Staunch Technology, FEFO Consulting, Metluma, Knowby, LeapForward, INSILLION, Agiliux Cloud Insurance, revealr, EasySend, Evari, Entsia, HumanableCX, Works Platform, Curium, and 3motionAI.
