Life insurer partners up to produce recovery app
Acenda has launched an app designed to support injured and ill people in their recoveries.
Its Vivo Companion tool was developed in partnership with Swiss health and technology business Dacadoo.
Customers can measure their health with real-time scores, which are boosted by tracking workouts and other activities. The app can sync with popular fitness devices including Fitbit and Garmin.
A digital health coach offers suggestions and prompts, and customers can enter competitions and win prizes.
Life insurer Acenda’s chief claims officer Andrew Beevors says active participation supports faster, more complete recoveries and a smoother return to work.
“Vivo Companion digitises the recovery experience and puts practical tools and support in customers’ pockets,” he said.
“It enables them to set, manage and track personalised recovery goals, augmented by general wellness support including nutrition, physical activity and sleep.”
In 2022, Swiss Re formed a partnership with Dacadoo, allowing clients to access the start-up’s MyWellLife platform.
“The future in digital health is all about hyperpersonalisation” Dacadoo CEO Peter Ohnemus said. “Acenda is a clear leader in this space, utilising Dacadoo to accelerate and tailor customer recovery.”
