Insurer, tech experts in IA event line-up

Leaders from Honey Insurance, Canopius and insurtech Raindrop will feature at Digital Minds Evolve, the first in a suite of sessions run by training group EDII.

EDII has operated in the UK insurance market since 2021 and has alumni at Allianz, Aon, Beazley, Markel and more.

It has partnered with Insurtech Australia to introduce its program here, and the first event in a series will be held at the InterContinental Double Bay on August 11-12.

“The program has been shaped to reflect challenges faced by the Australian market: AI adoption, embedded insurance, climate risk and regulatory change,” IA CEO Simone Dossetor said.

“We see this as an important opportunity to bring together insurers with the entrepreneurial mindset of our insurtech members.”

Raindrop CIO Jamie Smith and Canopius head of distribution Tesh Patel are mentors for the program, and Honey CEO David Krawitz, formerly Allianz’s COO, is the opening keynote speaker.

“In this closed-room format, I expect David will share some forthright perspectives on leading change and the state of the industry,” Ms Dossetor said.

Participants from QBE, IAG, Howden, Markel and AAMC will feature, sharing their experiences alongside EDII CEO Caroline Bedford.

Digital Minds Evolve Australia is accredited by ANZIIF for up to 12 hours of CPD. IA members have until tomorrow to apply to win a place at the August leadership event.
