Insurtech Gateway has acquired a Lloyd’s broker licence and is now authorised to trade in the market.

The incubator says broker status will allow it to more easily secure underwriting capacity for insurtech founders – one of the biggest barriers for industry start-ups. 

“It creates an even clearer path for us to bring bold new ideas into the London market and helps our founders start trading faster than ever before,” CEO Richard Chattock said.

“It’s exciting to formalise that relationship. By giving these start-ups the capacity, compliance and capital they need, we are helping them accelerate meaningful impact.”

Alumni of Insurtech Gateway – an associate of Insurtech Gateway Australia – include Bondaval, Coincover, Kita, Truvi and Onsi.
