FreightInsure ships product to NZ
Embedded goods-in-transit cover from FreightInsure is now available in New Zealand.
The business, founded in Australia in 2022 as part of the FreightSafe group, now has customers in four Asia-Pacific countries.
New Zealand freight operators can offer customers “pay as you go” cover for goods in transit as part of the freight booking process.
The mini policies cover each consignment for up to $NZ100,000 ($ 91,630) loss or damage in transit. Backed by HDI Global Specialty, the cover is available for local, national and international shipments.
CEO Simon Schwarz says embedded insurance is easy to buy and offers operators a new source of revenue.
“We’re excited to work alongside local freight companies and brokers to offer a modern insurance experience for goods in transit, even for low-value or one-off consignments,” he said.
Once FreightInsure’s technology is integrated into the booking systems of freight carriers and third-party logistics providers, customers can instantly add cover to consignments. Claims are handled by FreightSafe.
All major freight types are covered, and FreightInsure expects the greatest demand will be for parcels and cartons.
