Five contenders picked for Beyond the Buzzwords pitch battle
Insurtech Australia has selected five start-ups to take part in a rapid-fire pitch competition for early-stage innovations.
The contest is part of Beyond the Buzzwords on July 30 in Sydney – a full-day event packed with practical insights on tech innovation, hosted in partnership with Insurance News.
There will be an audience vote on the pitch competition winner, plus input from expert judges, and the victorious company will be the subject of an exclusive Insurance News feature.
All finalists receive an exhibition area at the event.
The conference will also feature IAG CIO Tony Craddock, Allianz CTO James Fitzpatrick, Upcover CEO Skye Theodorou and Suncorp CIO for insurance Mike Wood in a tech leaders panel, moderated by Simone Dossetor, CEO of Insurtech Australia.
The panel will examine priorities in technology, the strategic importance of data and how innovation is expected to redefine roles and drive long-awaited transformation over the next decade.
The pitch contest finalists:
- Brisbane-based IVAA is a jewellery validation service providing assessment, settlement recommendations and advice for claims.
- Sydney-based e5 Workflow provides technology, advisory and business process outsourcing services.
- Melbourne-based uBind simplifies insurance distribution with self-service, automation and embedded solutions from quote to claim.
- Queensland-based Codafication’s customers include Suncorp, IAG, Aon and QBE. It offers project management platform Crunchwork, triage tool Virtual Assist and Unity, which it says builds software in minutes in any language on any database.
- NSW-based FreightInsure offers goods in transit insurance that is integrated into the freight booking processes of Australia’s carriers. Offering pay as you go “mini-policies”, it is backed by capacity from HDI and Assetinsure and is part of FreightSafe Group.
