Ex-Vero underwriter launches specialist agency
Andrew Sharbeen has created new underwriting agency Codex Insurance, specialising in technology risk.
Mr Sharbeen most recently spent almost six years at Vero, finishing as technical specialist for professional and financial risks.
“I’m thrilled to lead a team that combines deep technical expertise with the backing of Lloyd’s, offering tailored solutions to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of technology risk within Australia,” said Mr Sharbeen, who also spent almost five years underwriting at Zurich and four years broking at Honan.
“There was a noticeable gap in the market, with few insurers truly understanding the unique and evolving risks faced by this sector.
“Brokers were increasingly voicing the need for more technically proficient underwriters and tailored products to meet the needs of those operating within this space.
“Codex Insurance was created to fill that void, providing bespoke solutions designed by technologists, for technologists.”
Codex, part of the Insurance Advisernet authorised representative network, offers professional indemnity, public and products liability, and cyber cover under its TechShield product.
The agency has attained coverholder status at Lloyd’s, led by MS Amlin.
“Whether you’re pioneering breakthroughs in fintech, advancing cybersecurity solutions, creating cutting-edge software, or driving any other tech innovation, Codex Insurance is here to safeguard your endeavours,” the business says.
