Ex-Suncorp tech manager joins Zurich
Zurich has appointed Terry Powell as group chief technology officer.
Mr Powell joins from ANZ, where he led the bank’s IT services transformation and cloud adoption. He has also worked at Suncorp as insurance technology GM.
Zurich says he will lead its group technology strategy, drive artificial intelligence across the infrastructure foundation, strengthen system resilience and pursue efficiency and productivity with AI.
Cristina Ghetti, who led food and drink giant Nestle’s AI-tool rollout, is joining as group head of digital employee experience.
She and Mr Powell are based in Zurich and start their roles today, reporting to group chief information and digital officer Ericson Chan.
“I am thrilled to welcome Terry and Cristina to Zurich,” Mr Chan said. “Their extensive leadership in artificial intelligence in the retail and fintech space is precisely the expertise we need to accelerate our digital transformation and further drive AI-adoption.”
