DAS rural property data on Guidewire interface
Rural insurers can now integrate Digital Agriculture Services’ satellite-derived data sets directly within Guidewire’s PolicyCenter platform.
DAS says the move will transform how agents, underwriters and claims teams interact with its property-level geospatial data and “bring rural location intelligence directly into policy writing”.
Anthony Willmott, DAS’ co-founder and CEO, says up to 70% of all farm and ranch premiums are written on the Guidewire platform.
“The ability to see what’s really on the ground while ‘off farm’ transforms how rural insurance is underwritten and managed,” he said. “This is part of the solution to a growing underinsurance challenge faced by producers.
“It allows insurers to see the true footprint of their customers’ landholdings and act on that insight in real time, all within the familiar Guidewire user interface.”
Professionals can select all land parcels related to a rural customer, precisely mapping boundaries, and automatically see structures and buildings.
Location data includes land use, elevation, vegetation and overlays for drought, flood and bushfire risk.
DAS says the integration “closes a long-standing data gap” in rural property cover, where policies often rely on postal addresses and manual boundary mapping.
“Insurers can now accurately assess exposure, optimise underwriting and reduce claims leakage – all without leaving Guidewire.”
