Sean Ringsted has been promoted to the role of Chubb Group chief scientist, responsible for artificial intelligence, data and analytics strategy worldwide. 

New York-based Mr Ringsted, formerly chief risk officer and chief actuary among other roles in his 22 years at the insurer, has been central in directing how Chubb uses data and analytics to drive decision-making. 

"This appointment amplifies how important our initiatives around AI and data are to our fundamental strategy," chairman and CEO Evan Greenberg said. 

“It also reflects Sean's long-standing role as a most trusted partner and colleague to me and the senior team. His deep knowledge, experience and expertise uniquely position him for the role." 

Mr Ringsted, who has already led the company's AI efforts globally as Chief Digital Business Officer, says he is "incredibly proud to share my next chapter as Chubb’s Chief Scientist. 

"Building our global digital business from a blank sheet of paper to a thriving, market-leading, revenue generating reality has been one of the great honours of my career," Mr Ringsted said.
