Axa Digital Commercial Platform has partnered with Finnish tech company ICEYE to track and predict extreme weather events such as floods, wildfires and hurricanes.

ICEYE operates satellites that allow for all-weather monitoring, day or night, and the company is a defence partner to NATO members including Finland, Poland and Netherlands.

Axa Digital Commercial Platform CEO Pierre du Rostu says ICEYE technology provides “the real-time insights our clients require even when it is dark, when there are clouds, when there is dust, smoke or volcanic ash”.

The partnership will enable insurance and risk management to move beyond response to prediction and prevention, he says.
