QBE reinsurance MD takes finance chief job
QBE has appointed Chris Killourhy as group chief financial officer, replacing Inder Singh, who resigned in August to take a role at NAB.
Mr Killourhy is currently QBE Re MD, based in London, according to his LinkedIn.
The insurer says he is an “accomplished insurance and finance executive with almost 25 years’ industry experience”.
Mr Killourhy joined the group in 2015 as chief actuary for QBE Capital – formally Equator Re – and later took senior roles including Australia Pacific chief actuary, Australia Pacific CFO and international CFO.
Before joining QBE, he worked in international insurance and consulting roles, and at the Bermuda Monetary Authority overseeing reinsurer capital models. He is a fellow of the UK Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
“Chris brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of our business, and will make an excellent leader of QBE’s global finance function,” group CEO Andrew Horton said.
“I look forward to working with him as we continue to drive positive momentum and consistency at QBE. Promoting internally highlights the quality of our leaders and our ongoing commitment to recognising talent within the organisation.”
Mr Killourhy will start the job on January 1, subject to regulatory approvals. He will be based in Sydney, reporting to Mr Horton, and will be on the group executive committee.
