Sydney-based James Thornberry has been appointed head of trade credit and surety at PSC Insurance Brokers.

Envest-owned PSC says the “strategic appointment” is an “important step in building a leading national trade credit and surety capability within PSC”.

It added: “James brings more than 25 years’ experience in credit insurance, banking and financial services. He has a strong track record of building high‑performing teams, driving sustainable growth and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients across complex market conditions.” 

Mr Thornberry will develop surety bond capability as PSC invests in growing the specialist product nationally.

He was National Credit Insurance MD from May 2021 until last October. He has also held senior roles at Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered, NAB and St George.
