Neal changes course to take AIG president role
Former Lloyd’s CEO John Neal will join AIG as president rather than taking a previously announced role in charge of climate solutions at Aon.
He will start the AIG job on December 1, reporting to chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino and becoming a member of the executive leadership team.
Mr Neal will lead the general insurance operation, which includes the North American commercial insurance, international commercial insurance and global personal insurance businesses.

“His appointment adds significant depth, global underwriting experience and talent to our leadership team … and he is widely recognised as one of the most accomplished insurance executives in the industry,” Mr Zaffino said.
Mr Neal was QBE’s CEO before joining Lloyd’s in October 2018. He left the London market on June 1.
His departure was announced in January and, at that time, both Lloyd’s and Aon said he would be joining the latter as global CEO of reinsurance and chairman of climate solutions.
