Global claims services provider McLarens has recruited Torben Bell to be MD of its Australian operations.

The position has been vacant since Martyn Wicht was promoted last year to be MD for Asia-Pacific, overseeing Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Vanuatu.

Mr Bell was previously with loss adjuster Integra Technical Services, where he held the dual roles of Australia and New Zealand MD and executive loss adjuster. Before that, he was Crawford & Company’s Australian head of major and complex loss, according to his LinkedIn. 

McLarens says Mr Bell brings a “unique perspective” on major and complex losses. “He has investigated and managed numerous claims and developed expertise across construction engineering, energy, manufacturing, marine and transport, mining, property and specialist liability risks.”

Mr Wicht said: “Torben’s expertise means he is a great fit for the team, and I look forward to working with him to support our continued growth.”
