Marsh veteran moves to Lockton for national role
Craig Claughton has been appointed national manager of financial institutions at Lockton, effective early next month.
Mr Claughton, who will be based in Queensland, has spent 23 years at Marsh in Sydney, most recently as financial and professional liability practice Pacific region MD and chairman.
He was the National Insurance Brokers Association broker of the year for NSW and ACT in 2021, and has represented some of Australia’s largest banks, listed companies and professional services firms.
Before broking, he spent two decades as an underwriter.
Lockton GM of professional and executive risk George Harding says Mr Claughton brings “significant capability to our business”.
“Craig’s four decades of experience and leadership in financial institutions is well recognised across the market,” he said.
Lockton has also appointed Dennis Moens as client manager, based in Sydney. Mr Moens has spent six years at Honan and is a former Zurich and AIG underwriter.
“Dennis adds valuable depth in our advisory-focused client service,” Mr Harding said.
