Marsh appoints Chief Claims Officer

Marsh has appointed insurance lawyer Catherine Osborne to the newly created role of Chief Claims Officer, Pacific as it strengthens support for clients.

Ms Osborne has more than 25 years’ experience as a lawyer and company director and has expertise in professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’ litigation, cyber risk, privacy, commercial litigation and class action lawsuits. She has also served as a Non-Executive Director of Zurich Australian Superannuation.

Marsh says Ms Osborne will provide strategic advice to clients on complex and large claims and will assist in managing the firm’s professionals across the region as they advise clients on how to best minimise the cost, impact and frequency of claims, as well as advocating on their behalf for successful recoveries.

“For clients, the claims experience is where the rubber hits the road and why proactively managing and resolving a claim is essential to their ability to recover from a loss and improve their bottom line,” Marsh Pacific CEO Nick Harris said today.

“That is why I am delighted that such a highly respected professional as Catherine, with her vast experience across a range of key risk issues, will join us to lead on this vital area for our clients.”

Ms Osborne, who will join Marsh next month from law firm Polczynski Robinson, will be based in Sydney and report to Mr Harris.
