Lloyd’s makes regional leadership changes
Lloyd’s has named a new regional head and announced several personnel changes as it makes a “continued investment in strengthening leadership”.
Emma Loynes has been promoted to Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) CEO, and Australian manager Tracey Bryan takes the additional role of regional deputy.
Ms Loynes, who has more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, retains her position as Singapore country manager and CEO at Lloyd’s of London Asia.
The changes follow last year’s announcement that previous regional head Chris Mackinnon will leave Lloyd’s in April. He is due to return from a sabbatical at the end of the month and will work to ensure a smooth transition, chief commercial officer Dawn Miller says.
Ms Bryan becomes APMEA deputy CEO, with a focus on regulatory compliance, while continuing as regional manager for Australia and New Zealand and APMEA head of regulatory and compliance.
In other changes, Simon Wilson has become general representative in New Zealand, taking over from Scott Galloway, who is stepping down after 25 years with Lloyd’s.

“Scott’s leadership and commitment have left a lasting mark, and we have truly valued having Scott as part of the team,” Ms Bryan said.
“I thank Scott for his outstanding service and welcome Simon to this important role.”
Mr Wilson worked in the regulatory affairs team and performance management directorate in London from 2014 to 2021, and supported the APMEA region on key strategic projects last year.
Mr Galloway will continue to share his expertise as a member of the Lloyd’s Australia board and as chair of the NZ subcommittee.
Elsewhere, Reena Gandesha has joined Lloyd’s from Gallagher Re as Middle East and Africa country manager following Andy Woodward’s retirement in December.
Lloyd’s has begun the search for a China CEO and country manager ahead of Donald Sun’s retirement at the end of next month.
Head of global regulatory and network engagement Andrew Gurney will retire at the end of this year after 27 years with the market, with Natasha Farrant to take the redefined role of director of multinational and global regulatory affairs.
“These changes reflect our continued investment in strengthening leadership across APMEA as we enter the next phase of growth,” Ms Miller said.
