Gallagher unveils latest acquisition

Gallagher has sealed the acquisition of Melbourne-based Woodridge Insurance Services in a deal that closed this week.

Woodridge, which was founded in 2011, specialises in property, liability, commercial motor and professional indemnity.

The team of four brokers and support staff is led by Tony Carmusciano, and the business will operate under the Gallagher brand going forward.

“Tony Carmusciano and his team have built a wonderful reputation in the market for their expertise and service to clients and I’m excited to see our combined experience strengthen our position in Melbourne,” Gallagher CEO Sarah Lyons said on LinkedIn today.

As reported by insuranceNEWS.com.au, Gallagher has been pushing hard for acquisitions in a competitive environment.

Globally it has acquired more than 400 companies in the last decade, with Australian operations securing more than 25 broking businesses since the merger with OAMPS in 2014.
