Gallagher buys agriculture broker

Gallagher has completed the purchase of MACK Insurance Services, marking a further expansion of its Australian business through acquiring specialist brokerages.

MACK is a commercial insurance intermediary with a focus on the agriculture sector. It was started by Lizzie Carver in 2017 after she left Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where she was casualty manager for more than two years, according to her LinkedIn.

She and her team will join Gallagher’s brokerage operations from offices in Wagga Wagga and Narrandera, NSW.

“MACK Insurance Services is a culturally aligned broker whose agriculture niche expertise complements our existing brokerage capabilities in Australia,” chairman and CEO J Patrick Gallagher said. “I am delighted to welcome Lizzie and her associates to our growing, global team.”
