‘Exciting new chapter’ as Aon appoints regional exec

Jason Disborough has been promoted to Pacific chief commercial officer at Aon.

The Brisbane-based executive has spent 25 years at the broking giant in Queensland and London, most recently as multinational clients CEO and enterprise chief commercial officer.

From next year he will lead Aon’s regional commercial strategy and oversee client engagement.

Mr Disborough will also join a Pacific partnership committee that launched earlier this year to share insights and strategies between Australia and New Zealand.

He says it is a pivotal time for the region and the partnership committee will be a “powerful platform for collaboration”.

“I look forward to building on our shared success. I am passionate about helping our clients navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape and I am excited to work with our talented teams across Australia and New Zealand.”

CEO of Australia Kevan Johnston says the appointment “marks an exciting new chapter for our Pacific business” and Mr Disborough’s “deep understanding of our markets and unwavering commitment to client excellence will help us accelerate growth”.

Aon New Zealand CEO Melissa Cantell says Mr Disborough – who will be member of Aon’s global and local leadership teams – is a proven leader who “brings people together to solve complex challenges”.
