Everest regional head named ANZIIF president
The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance has named Everest Insurance Asia-Pacific head Scott Leney as president.
The institute says Mr Leney brings decades of experience and a commitment to professional development in the insurance and finance sector.
He has previously held senior positions with Marsh & McLennan, including head of risk management for Asia-Pacific and country corporate officer for Australia.
“I am honoured to serve as president of ANZIIF, an organisation I have been proudly associated with since the early days of my career, beginning with my fellowship studies and continuing through to my recent tenure on the board of directors,” Mr Leney said today.
He takes over from Austbrokers chief broking officer Ben Bessell, who held the role since 2023.
ANZIIF has also announced the appointment of Brendan Dunne as deputy president.
Mr Dunne is chief customer and operations officer at Allianz Australia and, across two decades with the insurer, has held senior positions in finance, risk, strategy and transformation.
“ANZIIF plays a crucial role in championing the collective interests of our industry and delivering contemporary, relevant learning to our members across APAC,” Mr Dunne said.
The institute says Mr Bessell’s “contribution to advancing professional standards and strengthening industry engagement has been deeply valued”.
