Europ Assistance names new local leader

Justin Sebire has been appointed CEO at travel insurer Europ Assistance Australia and New Zealand, replacing Anna Gladman.

Mr Sebire was formerly group CFO and interim CEO at Zurich’s Cover-More travel arm, and Catholic Church Insurance CFO. He also spent almost eight years at Suncorp.

Europ Assistance is a subsidiary of Europe’s third-largest insurer, Generali Group. In Australia it operates as an agent of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company.

Its Asia, Pacific and Middle East CEO Hassen Bennour says Sydney-based Mr Sebire brings a wealth of experience across general, health and life cover.

“Justin’s extensive leadership experience in the insurance sector across Australia and New Zealand will be instrumental as we continue to build our presence in the region and help keep travellers safe with travel insurance and 24/7 assistance,” Mr Bennour said.

“We sincerely thank Anna Gladman for her leadership and valuable contributions during her time with Europ Assistance and extend our best wishes for her continued success.”

Ms Gladman, who has stepped down as CEO after almost two years, joined Europ Assistance as strategy and business development adviser in 2023.

She was formerly Nib travel CEO and has also worked at Liberty Financial, Latitude Financial Services, GE Capital, BT Financial Group, Suncorp and AMP.
