Envest recruits Agar as tech rollout continues

Former Ebix COO Simon Agar will join Envest as the broking giant rolls out its new Marketplace platform.

Envest has worked with Zap Central, where Mr Agar is a director, to build the quoting platform focused on five key lines: home, motor, commercial motor, business pack and landlords.

It says Marketplace will enable insurance partners to leverage their investments in technology and provide direct connectivity via API connections.

The platform was launched in February to Aviso Group brokers and Resilium Network members, and initially tapped into some of the robotics technology used by PSC’s APEX platform. Envest’s parent company, Ardonagh, acquired PSC last year.

Envest says Marketplace has evolved over the past six months through testing, development and daily updates.

“We’re making strides every week – enhancing quote times and moving towards a fully integrated platform that will empower all our brokers and insurance partners,” CEO Greg Mullins said.

Envest says Marketplace is being developed and operated by Mr Agar, who becomes the group's CTO Broking, along with Zap Central experts Lisa Woodley, Vibul Imtarnasan and Kiersten Lethbridge, who all have vast experience in broker systems and platforms.

“Our goal is to empower brokers and clients with smarter tools, stronger networks and better insurance outcomes,” Mr Mullins said.

Envest will roll out Marketplace to PSC brokers and authorised representatives over the next six months, and APEX will be “gradually decommissioned” next year.

Envest also says its Aviso Group brokers have started transitioning broking management systems from Steadfast’s Insight to Ebix's WinBEAT. Envest left the Steadfast network last year.

The PSC rollout of Javln, which started in New Zealand last year, will be extended to selected authorised representatives in Envest Network businesses by the end of the year.
