Curium compliance summit to share ‘lived experiences’

Compliance specialist Curium will hold an inaugural conference at Sydney Opera House that explores risk-shaping trends and hears from professionals who have “been in the trenches”.

Speakers at the October 2 event include regulators, legal experts and compliance professionals who will share “hard-earned lessons, case studies and fresh ideas”.

Curium CEO and co-founder Tetiana George says the aim is to give the industry a powerful voice.

“We’ve invited speakers who are not only thought leaders but deep practitioners – people who have been in the trenches and can share the realities of risk and compliance,” she said.

“This isn’t about abstract theory; it’s about practical wisdom, lived experience and bold new perspectives.”

Platinum partner and insurance law firm Gilchrist Connell has joined Curium in shaping a program aiming to move the industry beyond reactive obligations and towards proactive thinking that positions compliance as a strategic advantage rather than a burden.

Curium says the risk and compliance conference, themed “from red tape to value”, will encourage discussion and knowledge sharing, helping participants learn from each other and develop practical solutions to common challenges.

Trends to be explored include the evolution of technology and artificial intelligence, ownership and governance of data, moving from reactive to proactive risk management, and practical and pragmatic compliance.

Curium says the event is about shaking things up, taking professionals away from the grind of day-to-day operations and giving them space to “step back, think bigger and explore new approaches” to managing risk.

Insurance News is media partner for the conference at the Opera House’s Yallamundi Rooms.
