Cover-More names successor as CEO retires

Zurich Cover-More has appointed Jeff Rutledge to succeed CEO David Fike, who is retiring after more than a decade in senior roles with the business.

Mr Rutledge, who is currently global travel CEO, will take over on July 1 and report to Zurich Global Ventures CEO Cara Morton.

“Jeff is a proven leader with deep industry expertise and a strong vision for the future of travel insurance,” Ms Morton said.

“I’m confident that under his leadership, Zurich Cover-More will continue to grow as a global leader in travel protection.

“I also want to extend my sincere thanks to David Fike for his outstanding leadership in his decade at Zurich. I wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Mr Rutledge took his current role last December after Zurich bought AIG’s global personal travel insurance and assistance business – including the Travel Guard brand – for more than $US600 million ($927 million).

Before that, he served as president and CEO of AIG Travel for more than 18 years. He is currently based in New York, according to his LinkedIn.

In another major appointment for Zurich Cover-More, transformation director Emily Yoo will become head of operations and transformation, reporting to Ms Morton.

“In this newly created role, she will lead the integration of Travel Guard into Zurich as well as lead operations, claims and technology for Zurich Cover-More,” the company said.

The global travel insurer is headquartered in Sydney. Swiss group Zurich acquired Cover-More in 2017.
