Cornerstone buys brokers in Queensland growth drive

Envest-owned Cornerstone Risk Group has acquired Queensland brokers Cav Insure and Rural Insurance Services.

Cav Insure operates from Stanthorpe, and Rural Insurance is in Roma.

Cornerstone says the deals are part of a strategy to expand across Queensland and NSW.

“These acquisitions reflect Cornerstone’s long-standing belief that strong regional businesses are built on local knowledge, trust and long-term relationships,” director Scott Mitchell said.

“Cav Insure and Rural Insurance Services are highly respected in their communities, and we’re proud to welcome their teams into the Cornerstone network.”

Cav Insure says it gave “careful consideration” to the deal, which took effect yesterday.

“This move felt like a natural step for our team and our clients,” director Josh Cavallaro said.

“Cornerstone understands the value of local relationships. This transition allows us to retain our people, our relationships and our local knowledge, but now with greater support behind us to continue delivering the service our clients know and trust.”

Rural Insurance Services became part of Cornerstone last week.

“Joining Cornerstone means we can keep doing what we do best – supporting regional and rural clients with local knowledge and trusted advice, while gaining the backing of a group that’s genuinely invested in our communities for the long term,” founder and MD Grant Lorenz said.
