The prudential regulator has appointed Jane Magill as executive director for life insurance.

Ms Magill, who is currently the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s executive director for general insurance and banking, replaces Carmen Beverley-Smith, who has left for a corporate job.

Her appointment is effective from February 16 and her remit includes private health insurance and superannuation.

APRA says GM for banking Peter Diamond will be acting executive director for general insurance and banking while it looks for a replacement.

Ms Magill joined APRA in May 2023 as chief of staff and enterprise services, and was appointed to her current role in 2024.
