Another leadership team executive quits IAG

IAG Group Executive Strategy and Corporate Development David Harrington “has decided to leave” the company at the end of March, the insurer says today in a statement.

A spokesman for IAG told insuranceNEWS.com.au the business has not yet decided whether to search for a replacement to fill the role.

The announcement of Mr Harrington’s departure is the second in eight days from the Group Leadership Team, which is responsible for risk management and internal control frameworks.

Last Tuesday the insurer announced Group Executive Ben Bessell had made a similar decision to leave, also at the end of March.

Mr Harrington joined IAG in 2011 as GM for CGU’s Corporate Office, with responsibilities for the brand’s divisional strategy, risk and compliance, brand and corporate communications, legal services and the CGU Foundation.

“[He] has been a central figure in helping us map out the corporate strategy we have been delivering against for the past four years and leaves at a time when we are well-positioned to enter our next era,” CEO and MD Peter Harmer said.

“I’d like to thank [him] for his leadership, guidance and support. We wish him every success for the future.”
