Allianz to merge two key divisions
Allianz Australia will combine its personal injury and commercial divisions from the start of October.
The new commercial and personal injury unit will be led by Julie Mitchell, while Mark Pittman will take the new role of EGM personal injury.
“By combining the capabilities and expertise of our existing divisions, we can strengthen our focus, enhance operational efficiency, and deepen our relationships with our customers and broker partners, who play a central role in delivering solutions to our customers across the country,” the Allianz personal injury division said in a LinkedIn post today.
Ms Mitchell, who has more than two decades’ experience with Allianz, will become chief GM of the combined division after earlier this year taking over the commercial unit leadership from Phuong Ly, who was appointed to a UK post.
Previously, she led the personal injury business and has held roles related to claims and workers’ compensation.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with many of our broker partners, customers and personal injury regulators,” Ms Mitchell said.
“This has given me invaluable insight into the ongoing opportunities for more integrated insurance solutions and what is required of Allianz in the moments that matter.”
Mr Pittman is currently GM of government services (personal injury), his LinkedIn page shows.
“Mark brings extensive expertise in the personal injury industry and will continue our commitment to drive industry-leading innovations and support Australian businesses and people impacted by injury, illness and disability,” the company said.
