WTW launches tech industry unit
WTW has formed a dedicated technology industry practice in Australia and New Zealand, led by cyber risk specialist Ben Di Marco.
The practice is part of WTW’s corporate risk and broking business.
“Technology organisations deserve to be supported by insurance and advisory experts who understand their challenges and can deliver responsive and fit-for-purposes outcomes,” said Mr Di Marco, who has led the cyber and technology risk team since 2019.
Andrew Morgan has been appointed cyber consulting leader, and WTW is hiring a senior associate to work across its insurance, advisory and consulting practices.
Mr Di Marco says technology industry challenges include civil liability risks and losses arising from cyber breaches, and regulatory focus on technology supply chains, cybersecurity, resilience and privacy.
New demands are being placed on boards regarding technology governance, legal reforms, AI risk management and overall data risk management.
WTW head of Australia and New Zealand James Baum says the technology industry practice will allow the broker to provide a tailored risk management approach to businesses.
