Tributes paid after broking leader dies

WTW says it is “deeply saddened” by the death of its Asia-Pacific CFO Greg Vlahos.

Mr Vlahos had spent almost 17 years at WTW and was a member of the National Insurance Brokers Association board. He was due to help present a session on financial literacy at the NIBA Convention on the Gold Coast next month.

insuranceNEWS.com.au understands that Mr Vlahos suffered an unexpected health-related incident.

“He was not only an exceptional finance leader and colleague but also someone who inspired those around him with his integrity, dedication and warmth,” WTW said today.

Head of Pacific James Baum says Mr Vlahos’ passing will be “deeply felt” by many.

“Greg was a well-respected leader whose impact was felt not only within WTW but across the broader industry.

“He was a trusted adviser and friend to many, a remarkable individual whose contributions shaped not only our organisation but the insurance and risk community in Australia.”

WTW says its thoughts are with Mr Vlahos’ family and loved ones.

“WTW is committed to supporting them, as well as our colleagues, during this difficult period. On behalf of the management and all employees at WTW, we extend our heartfelt condolences.”
