Miramar says Sports Underwriting Australia has joined the group as part of its specialty lines unit led by GM Jason Thoroughgood.

Steadfast launched Miramar Group in March, bringing seven underwriting agencies owned by the listed intermediary under one brand.

Sports Underwriting, also owned by Steadfast, specialises in cover for sporting groups, leisure-related businesses and licensed clubs.

Miramar CEO Stephen Ward said: “Having the right insurance in place helps ensure these activities remain accessible and sustainable for players, volunteers, officials and clubs alike.

“The Miramar Sports team led by Jason brings the specialist experience needed to support organisations operating in this space.”
