Christopher Harris has been appointed to the QBE board, effective July 6.

He is also QBE Capital chair, and CEO and director at private specialty reinsurer Monarch Point Re.

QBE chair Yasmin Allen says Mr Harris has expertise in capital allocation, risk management and underwriting, and a strong track record as an executive and a director.

“His knowledge of QBE through his role as chair of QBE Capital will enable him to make an immediate contribution to the board,” she said.

“His appointment also reflects the ongoing and disciplined approach we are taking to board composition.”

US-based Mr Harris also sits on the board of Catalina Holdings.

Peter Wilson left the QBE board at the end of last year and is now a director at Hamilton Insurance Group.
