Jon Broome, who has led Proclaim for almost three decades, is leaving the business as it rebrands under DWF after acquisition by the British law firm and claims service provider.

DWF bought claims manager Proclaim in September 2024, but the businesses operated with separate Australian financial services licences until April this year, when both were brought under the Proclaim AFSL.

A new leadership team was announced in May, with Mr Broome continuing temporarily in an advisory role.

“It’s been a wild ride, but comes a time. A little over 27 years after I left Chubb to start Proclaim, it’s time to hand over the reins,” Mr Broome said today on LinkedIn.

“We were very much an upstart with a unique proposition, and many people took a chance on us. I look back with pride on what we have built and feel it’s the right time for new leadership to accompany the name change to DWF.”

Melbourne-based Mr Broome thanked “the many Proclaimers past and present who embraced our purpose to go beyond and make a difference. I am forever grateful. Your hard work, dedication and many great ideas created our success.”

He says one reason the business was “so sellable” was the “length and strength of our client relationships. Thank you for your suggestions, for your loyalty, and for your friendship.

“I could not have foreseen in our early visits to the Lloyd’s market how that would become the majority of our business, that we would learn so much, or that we would have so much fun doing it.

“We have also been very fortunate to have had a number of agents, brokers, mentors, coaches, lawyers and adjusters who have pushed for us.”
