Johns Lyng unit seeks OK to buy fellow strata manager
Johns Lyng subsidiary Bright & Duggan Group will buy Civium Property Group’s strata and building management business, subject to clearance from the competition watchdog.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is assessing the acquisition after Bright & Duggan notified it.
Bright & Duggan provides strata and building management services to owners’ corporations, bodies corporate and community title schemes in the ACT, NSW, Queensland and Victoria. Civium offers similar services in the same markets.
The commission has issued a questionnaire seeking feedback on how the deal may affect competition in the strata and building management services sector.
It expects to complete the assessment by November 16. Feedback to the questionnaire must be made by tomorrow.
