Blain Waterford has been appointed head of travel for Australia and New Zealand at Zurich-owned Cover-More.  

He was previously AIG’s global head of direct marketing, digital and partnerships for three years in Singapore. Zurich acquired AIG’s Travel Guard business in 2024.

Mr Waterford, now based in Sydney, joins Zurich’s Australia and New Zealand leadership teams.

“Blain brings a global perspective, industry expertise, strong commercial leadership and a proven ability to deliver customer‑focused outcomes at scale,” Zurich’s local CEO Justin Delaney said.

“He will play a key role in advancing our strategy and strengthening our position in the local travel insurance market.”

Mr Waterford’s previous roles include 15 years at Chubb in Sydney, Bangkok, Singapore and Seoul, and almost eight years at AIG in South Africa.
