Cohabit platform adds strata cover

Insurtech Cohabit has launched a digital strata insurance product.

It allows strata schemes to review and compare insurance options on the Cohabit platform using building-specific data.

Users can benchmark premiums and coverage against comparable buildings, track renewals and policy details, and access expert guidance.

Cohabit director of insurance Eleni Svinos says strata cover has traditionally been “opaque and difficult” for owners to understand.

“With CohabitInsurance, we’re bringing the process into the digital age,” she said. “By combining live building data, benchmarking and expert support, we can help strata schemes make more informed insurance decisions and better understand the risks and costs associated with their buildings.”

The platform already hosts data from more than 50,000 building profiles across Australia, and CohabitInsurance will be rolled out to strata schemes, owners and industry partners across the nation.

“Our goal is to give every building a digital identity that brings clarity to the decisions that matter most, including insurance,” Cohabit founder Thom Richards said.
