ATC finds ‘right opportunity in London’ with Frontier purchase
ATC Insurance Solutions has acquired specialist financial lines managing general agency and London market wholesaler Frontier Global Underwriting.
The purchase of Frontier – founded in 2019 by Sophie Fraser and Joel Pridmore – marks a significant strategic expansion for ATC, strengthening its underwriting capabilities and deepening its presence across financial lines, emerging markets and the Asia-Pacific region.
“Frontier is an exceptional business with a disciplined underwriting philosophy, deep technical expertise and a global reputation for excellence,” ATC executive chairman Chris Anderson said.
“We have been looking for the right opportunity in the London market for some time and couldn’t be more delighted to be working with Sophie and Joel and their wider team.”
ATC says Frontier, which has operations in London and Sydney, has built a reputation as a high-performing, technically specialised MGA delivering market-leading loss ratios. Its diversified portfolio spans emerging markets, financial institutions, Australian retail and wholesale financial lines, cyber, crime, directors and officers, professional indemnity and specialist digital asset risks.
Ms Fraser and Mr Pridmore will continue to lead the business, ensuring continuity for clients, brokers and capacity partners.
“With ATC’s scale, infrastructure and complementary product capabilities, we will be able to accelerate our growth ambitions while maintaining the underwriting discipline and client focus that define our business,” Ms Fraser said.
Mr Pridmore says the deal also provides a platform to expand binder relationships, broaden distribution and deepen Frontier’s presence across key markets.
Frontier’s London market wholesale broking arm Bastion Risk Partners, a specialist intermediary for complex financial lines and specialty risks, is included in the acquisition.
“Joining ATC gives Bastion the scale, infrastructure and long-term backing to drive our growth,” MD James Michalowski-Cummings said.
ATC says the acquisition aligns with its strategy to build a globally connected specialty underwriting platform with deep technical capability and strong carrier partnerships.
