Victorian surveyor suspended over combustible cladding

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) has suspended a surveyor who was found to have approved the installation of combustible cladding on the external wall of a building in the state.

The surveyor, identified in media reports as Kamran Basiri from KZB Building Surveyors, has a prior history of disciplinary action and a record of repeatedly allowing the use of dangerous building materials.

“The VBA’s action will ensure this building surveyor cannot continue to sign off on non-compliant building work and jeopardise the safety of Victorians,” Executive Director Operations Mark Rossiter said.
